《高中英语课程标准 (实验) 》 (以下简称《标准》 (实验) ) (教育部, 2003) 提倡教师从三维目标出发进行教学, 倡导以学生为中心, 以活动为载体的阅读教学模式, 促进学生的全面发展。《标准》 (实验) 中七级语言技能目标中“读”包括:能从一般文章中获取和处理主要信息;能理解文章主旨和作者意图;能通过上下文克服生词困难, 理解语篇意义等。基于《课标 (实验) 》对教师和学生的要求, 本文以人教版高中英语Module 4 Unit 1的Reading部分A Student of African wildlife为例, 设计并实施了一节45分钟的阅读课, 取得了良好的教学效果。

二、教学内容及总体设计思路

这是一篇叙事性记叙文, 介绍了简与她的同事在森林里研究大猩猩的一天, 并由此引出她所取得的成就, 赞扬了她为保护野生动物所做出的贡献以及不畏艰险的伟大精神。笔者根据对课标、教材的理解以及对学生学情的分析, 把本节课的目标定为:

知识与技能——能识记并学会在简单情景中运用课文中出现的词汇, 如:achievement, behave, inspire等;能熟练运用略读和寻读等阅读策略把握篇章中心内容;能学会运用分析、判断、概括等阅读技巧。

过程与方法——通过任务型表格填空、口头表达、正误判断、单词填空等多种练习, 理解文中具体信息。

情感态度与价值观——认识Jane不畏艰险的精神, 了解她的伟大之处;了解非洲黑猩猩的生活习性, 增强保护动物的意识。

本文分读前、读中、读后三环节设计教学活动。读前—通过问题和游戏导入话题, 通过预测和视频激发学生阅读动机, 通过背景知识介绍呈现部分新词, 扫清语言障碍。读中—通过设置不同类型的任务, 指导学生运用略读、跳读, 了解文章的主旨和细节及篇章结构信息, 并通过完成阅读任务培养学生概括、分析、推断的阅读技能。读后—首先要求学生通过单词填空复述文章主要内容, 然后教师通过提问由浅入深引导学生展开讨论总结文章, 升华主题。

三、教学过程

Stage1: Pre-reading

Step1:Lead-in

Step2: Scanning

【设计说明】笔者遵循学生的认知规律, 由浅入深, 环环相扣的设计问题, 引导学生发散思维, 结合思维导图再次梳理整理文章框架并进行深入讨论。通过对问题的回答, 了解Jane Goodall研究年非洲黑猩猩的方法, 原因, 以及她所做出的牺牲和遇到的困难, 在此过程中学生能逐渐感受到她的伟大之处和对动物的热爱。最后一个问题从文本回到现实, 让学生从自己的选择中进一步感受她的不易。最后教师通过ppt展示Jane Goodall的一句名言并让学生齐读, 激励学生向她学习。

四、教学评价

评价不在于证明, 而在于改进。笔者主要从亮点和疏漏点进行反思评价:

在整个教学过程中, 笔者坚持以学生为主体, 教师为主导的原则。开展活动时, 既考虑了任务活动的多样性和灵活性, 又确保了各个任务活动之间演进的合理性与流畅性 (胡庆芳, 2009) 。从阅读文本的语言输入到学生对主题讨论的语言输出, 按照“从文本到生活”的主题模式进行, 任务设计由易到难, 层层递进, 培养了学生的英语综合能力。

但是不同环节的时间分配不够合理, 笔者在读前和读中设计的任务过多, 花费了几乎90%的时间, 以至于读后的活动学生没有充分的时间讨论, 弱化了情感态度的培养。所以要注意教学速度快慢适中, 教学内容要详略得当, 才能形成良好的课堂教学节奏。

总之, 教师要不断加强理论学习, 并在实践中积极反思, 探讨更有效的高中英语阅读教学方法。

From June 1st, 2008, China will ban ultra-thin plastic bags from supermarkets and stores. Recently a survey has been conducted about our government forbidding the use of plastic shopping bags.

70% of them are in favor of the ban. The reasons are as follows. Firstly, as many as 3 billion plastic bags are used every day in China, causing a severe waste of resources.
