昨日,“转正”后的南方科技大学招收的首批188名新生正式步入课堂,开启不一样的大学生活。

这批学生是通过高考成绩占60%、自主能力测试占30%、平时成绩占10%的“631”式考核方式给“领”进校门的,这种全国独一无二的综合评价模式,在中国高等教育改革史上留下浓墨重彩的一笔,引发社会对中国教育改革的思考。

昨日,南科大校长朱清时院士在百忙中接受记者专访,向记者分享此次自主招生改革背后的故事及今后的自主招生思路。

【关于招生改革】

引发社会反思中国教育弊病

深圳特区报:您认为此次南科大招生改革最大的突破是什么?

朱清时:我们将培养创新型人才的根本理念真正融入到此次自主招生中来,设计出一套测试学生创新素质的复试方法。

什么样的人才称得上是创新型人才?我认为应该具备5项能力:一是独立思考的能力,需要有跳出常规的批判精神,此外,还需有想象力、洞察力、记忆力和注意力,只有具备这些素质的人才才有能力经常产生新的思想,而创新的核心恰恰是新思想。

深圳特区报:但是“631”方案中,高考成绩依旧占据“大头”,承载着高教改革希望的“自主招生”比例仅为高考比重的一半,有观点认为此次自主招生“自主”的成分并不高。

朱清时:很多人可能会这么认为,但实际上这已经是一个很大的突破。因为我们测算综合成绩时,是将高考成绩满分的750分折算成100分后再乘以60%,自主测试成绩满分是100分,不需折算直接乘以30%,折算后高考成绩的3.73分相当于自主测试的1分,所以“自主”的比例还是很大的。

深圳特区报:您最初提出的招生方案是“433”模式。

朱清时:是的。我们最初申请时提出的是自主招生考试占40%,高考和平时成绩各占30%的模式。在向上级部门汇报这个方案时,他们提出平时成绩很难测准的问题,因为不同省份不同学校的平时成绩很难有统一的标准,所以希望将平时成绩减少到10%。

后来我们发现他们很有经验,这个决定是对的。当然,我们在商量方案的过程中,也试图争取将平时成绩减少的20%加到自主招生上,但上级部门考虑到这是第一次尝试,有些地方还看不准,还是决定以高考成绩为主,我们也感觉这样更稳妥,就同意了。

深圳特区报:从获得招生权到敲定招生方案、正式启动招生仅有一个月时间,你们是怎么完成这项工作的,中间有没有一些难忘的故事?

朱清时:4月底获得招生权后,我们就开始紧锣密鼓地商量招生方案。5月下旬起,我们开始不停地往返于北京、广州、深圳,到教育部就跑了4、5次,不断地汇报、协商、更改方案,最终在5月29日敲定“631”方案,即高考成绩占60%,南科大组织的自主测试占30%,平时成绩占10%的这种基于高考的综合评价录取模式。

方案获批的第二天,我们立即在南科大召开面向广东省的宣讲会,紧接着就飞去成都,开始其它7个省份的招生宣讲。每到一个城市,我需要做三件事:召开一场招生宣讲会,向师生、家长介绍南科大办学理念、招生方案等;见一见当地中学校长;接受当地媒体采访。这8个省份我都亲自去了,那段时间,我几乎每天都要赶飞机,有的城市停留时间一天都不到,可能头天晚上抵达当地,办完“三件事”后,第二天下午就得匆匆飞往另一个城市。

深圳特区报:您如何评价此次招生工作,对这188名新生满意吗?

朱清时:我们取得了成功,超过预期目标。在各地招生时,我们受到学生和社会的热烈欢迎,最后招到188个十分优秀的学生。最近我们举行了两场报告会,一个是唐杰副市长讲经济,海天出版社社长尹昌龙讲十大观念,学生们踊跃发问,从提问来看,学生们思维深度和理解能力都很不一般,嘉宾都很赞叹,认为我们学生的素质很高。

深圳特区报:有没有一些遗憾的地方?

朱清时:遗憾之处首先在于自主能力测试出题很匆忙,只测试了学生的4个能力,即想象力、洞察力、记忆力和注意力,没有对学生的独立思考能力、批判能力、人文素质等进行测试,我想我们下次的自主能力测试一定会把这些内容加进去。

其次,在出题上,因为今年是第一年,担心题目太难,学生自主能力测试成绩与高考成绩相差太大,导致高考成绩起不到太大作用,为了谨慎起见,我们的出题量偏轻,题目偏容易。这次考完后,我们就有了一个基准,下次就可以做得更加精准了。

另外,在平时成绩的.测算方面,因为这次各地没有做相关基础工作,有些地方有会考成绩,有的没有,即使有会考成绩的,各地标准相差也很大,这给我们在测算平时成绩时带来一定难度。另外,我们希望在平时成绩中看到学生的道德品质、关心社会等方面的表现,但是因为时间有限,无法了解得太细,这些都是需要我们明年要改进的地方。

希望延续今年模式,具体方案待批

深圳特区报:在今年自主招生积累一定经验的基础上,明年的招生方案有没有可能取得更大突破?

朱清时:明年我们希望在今年的基础上,继续通过这种综合评估的方式招生,今年我们积累了很多经验和教训,明年会做得更好。

目前,我们正在成立校务委员会,按照《南方科技大学章程》、《南方科技大学管理暂行办法》,招生方案由校务委员会讨论决定,这个机构将在一个月内成立,由我担任主任,而后带领这个团队来做招生这件事。

目前,我们还不知道教育部到时会用什么形式来批我们的招生方案,也许就是延续今年的招生方案,明年只需要批一下招生规模就行了。

我相信,我们只要做好了,全社会和教育部都接受了,自主招生成绩所占的比例自然会更高。

高考作为参考, 录取应由高校自主决定

深圳特区报:您理想的自主招生方案是什么样的?

朱清时:高考只是作为参考,如何录取完全由学校自主决定,这是世界接轨的高校招生方法。全世界发达国家中学毕业后都有一场类似高考的考试,比如美国的SAT考试,学生去申请某所高校,高校会参考SAT成绩,但是你考了状元也不一定录取你,考得不好也不一定不录取你,高校会按照自己的要求进行自主测试,按照符合自己要求的方式录取。不会像我们国家,就是一考定终身,差一分都不行。南科大自主招生虽然高考成绩占60%,但高考成绩的绝对权威还是存在,真正理想的招生方式是:高考成绩只有参考价值,是否录取要由学校按自己的定位和特点综合评估决定。这样每个学校才有特色,才能打破“千校一面”的状况。当然,为了杜绝不正之风,学校的自主测试也要公正、透明,接受全社会监督。

给新生减压暂不设选修课

深圳特区报:记者从2012级第一学期课表上看到,教学周共20周,从9月3日到明年1月19日。每天的课程设置不会太满,留出时间给学生自主学习。

去年,首届教改实验班的学生曾因“课业负担过重”向朱清时校长“诉苦”,学校如何调整?

朱清时:去年教改实验班的学生必修课、选修课加起来一共有13门,本来选修课程是供学有余力的学生个性选择,但很多同学不愿意落下任何一门课程,一学期要上十几本课程,造成课业压力沉重。今年,在此基础上,2012级新生的课程设置会有所调整,只开设了8门主修课,包括高等数学,物理、物理实验、化学原理,国学经典,英语、体育等。考虑到刚步入大学,很多学生还不了解自己的个性与特长,所以,初步安排在第二学期之后才开设选修课供他们选择,使课程结构更加合理,学生不会有太大的学业压力,又可以专心学习感兴趣的学科专业。

深圳特区报:为什么物理化学教材要选择英文原版的?

朱清时:这恰恰是南科大培养学生创新能力的一个环节。中国的教育习惯了传授知识,教材上把所有内容都分解得非常清楚,是把馍馍都嚼碎了再喂到学生嘴巴里,学生很容易看懂,但是到做科学研究时就感觉后劲不足了,因为很多科研需要学生自己查阅英文文献,这样做是在逼他们培养自学能力,能够适应遇到困难后自己想办法克服。(秦小艳)

1992年中韩建交以来, 两国经济贸易额逐年发展, 在各领域的交流也逐渐频繁, 伴随着对韩国语人才需求量的不断增大, 韩国语专业也在全国各高校广泛建立。现在国内出版的韩国语教材虽然种类繁多, 但由于是小语种教学, 在各方面的投入都相对不足, 因此存在着教学法落后、内容形式单一等问题。随着与韩国交流的不断加强, 现在已有很多学校从韩国直接引进原版教材实施韩国语教育。

教材直接影响着教学法的运用并决定着教学内容, 是主导教育过程正常进行的重要工具。因此, 教材对学习结果影响重大。韩国的原版教材在教学法、教学活动、教学内容等方面的研究都有着相对明显的优势, 且在内容和形式设计方面也都各具风格。但同时由于教育对象、教学目标、以及教学环境等方面的差异, 使得原版教材与国内本土教学现状之间产生了某些不适应性。本文旨在通过对韩国原版教材引进过程中的一些问题进行分析, 希望能够对今后在利用韩国原版教材方面有所帮助。

二、问题点

韩国历来注重其文化传播, 文字作为文化的载体, 韩国政府一直在“韩文世界化”方面进行着不懈的努力。同时, 由于受“韩流”等因素的影响, 每年赴韩学习的外国留学生也在不断增加, 在此情况下很多韩国语教育机关都为自己量身定做了韩国语教材。因此, 现在韩国各教育机关使用的教材可以说各具长短, 但若引入中国本土教学中则必然出现以下几种问题。

1、教育对象

韩国各教育机关的教育对象不仅是来自世界各地的学生, 且年龄分布较广、知识结构多样。因此, 教材不论在解释说明方面还是在结构及体系方面都是以普遍性为主。既要照顾到各国家人群文化风俗习惯及语言的特点, 也要照顾到各年龄层因为知识结构和个人经历等差异而造成在理解能力上的差距。现在韩国学习韩国语的外国人群中, 随着中国人的数量的激增, 某些教育机关虽然出版了所谓的中国版教材, 但实际上只是将原版教材的解释说明部分翻译成了中文, 并没有在体系及构造方面针对中文特点进行加工处理。而在中国大学的韩国语学习者虽然存在着由于地域和民族的差别而导致的文化及方言差异, 但在年龄及知识结构方面相对平均。因此, 相比韩国的韩国语学习者, 其教育对象相对单一。由此便容易导致在引进韩国语教育机关原版教材过程中产生教育对象的针对性与教材内容普遍性之间的冲突。

2、教学目标

现在韩国各教育机关的韩国语学习者大致可以分为三种。一种是为了升学, 包括从本科到研究生过程, 这一人群占大多数。他们为了能够进入韩国高校学习而来到韩国利用至少半年左右的时间学习韩国语, 以适应日后的学习和社会生活。再有一种是对韩国文化及语言感兴趣而来到韩国, 学完语言便回国工作或转到其他国家继续学习或生活。还有一种是受“韩流”影响来韩国追星。但不论以何种原因来到韩国学习韩国语, 他们都面临同一个问题, 那就是在韩国生活, 这也就成为了韩国各韩国语教育机关的一个首要任务。使他们通过学习韩文了解韩国文化, 以掌握在韩国生活的基本工具。因此教育内容以生活化和培养交流能力为主。这便使得有学生反映即使读到高级, 在韩国入学学习专业课程时还是有很多东西听不懂的情况时有发生。这就说明要在韩国就业的技能很难在韩国语教育机关中习得。而在中国大学的韩国语学习者是以通过四年制本科学习后步入社会参加工作为目的学习韩国语。且在工作过程中与直接和韩国人交流的机会相比, 中韩两种语言之间转换能力的运用机会更多一些。这便使得在引进韩国的韩国语教育机关原版教材中易产生教学内容的专业化要求与教材生活化之间的矛盾, 以及学生对语言的分析和语言之间转换能力的要求与只局限于交流能力培养之间的矛盾。

3、教学内容

中国的韩国语教育属于外语教育, 而在韩国的韩国语教育属于第二语言教育, 这使得两个地区的教材在内容结构方面必然存在差异。语言是文化的载体, 语言教学离不开伴随此种语言社会的文化介绍。中韩两国虽然同属汉文化圈, 自古以来在各方面有着较深的渊源, 但不同的社会文化必然会造成某些相互间难以理解的因素。在韩国学习韩国语, 可以在生活中切实感受到教材中所提到的内容, 而作为外语学习却缺少这一外部条件。因此, 韩国原版教材中涉及到的某些内容很可能会成为作为外语学习韩国语过程中的理解难点, 并且因为应用性低而同时导致遗忘率提高, 这一部分内容往往会增加学习过程中的“无用功”, 造成教材在内容理解性和应用性与本土化之间的不兼容现象。

4、体系性

现在韩国开发的教材虽然以综合性教材为主, 但由于以特殊目的学习韩国语的人数逐步增加, 也逐渐加强了针对听说读写技能的材开发工作。不过就现在国内引进的大多数韩国原版教材来看, 还是以韩国各大学语学堂应用的教材为主。现在韩国各韩国语教育机关自行开发的教材几乎无一例外地采用了综合式的构成方式, 即一节课以某一主题为线, 贯穿听、说、读、写四项基本语言技能的练习内容。在中国大学中的韩国语教育课程虽然设置了针对听、说、读、写技能练习的科目, 但却由于教学时数与教学目的等因素, 无法实现将一本综合性教材贯穿于各单项语言技能课中。现行已引进的韩国原版教材也大多只在综合韩国语 (精读课) 、会话课、视听课等单项技能练习课程中应用, 既导致了教材内容无法得到充分利用, 又使得教学过程缺乏连贯性。因此, 在引进韩国原版教材时, 应注意教材构成形式与国内按照语言技能分类设置课程之间的适应性。

5、时效性

每种语言都有其自身的演变过程。语言的演变基本可以看作语音、词汇、语法三种因素演变的结果。其中词汇的演变是三种演变因素中更新最快的。因此, 在引进韩国原版教材时有必要注意其时效性。某些教材虽然具有一定的难度系数, 但其中很多单词和语法现象正在逐步退出现代社会或是只有老年人才使用, 或是有一些主题情景设置已经不适应现代社会的实际情况, 此类教材在被作为高校韩国语教材引进时其内容的适应性值得商榷。因此在引进教材时应该词汇、语法, 以及情景主题设置的实效性。

三、结论

综合上述问题点, 作为外语教学, 韩国语专业在引进韩国原版教材时, 不能只注重在其在韩国应用的普遍性, 而应考虑本土教学情况有针对性地进行选择和利用。虽然韩国对韩国语教育的投入远高于中国, 使得原版韩国语教材在教学法研究、教材内容编排、教学活动设计等方面较有优势, 但从韩国语教育历史来看, 中国却有着较长的历史[1]。从这点来说, 在开发教材方面国内不应妄自菲薄忽视自身的经验优势而一味注重引进韩国原版教材, 而应本着借鉴的态度对韩国原版教材进行有选择性的“拿来主义”, 结合自身特点编纂出适合自身教育环境、教育目标、教育对象的教材才能更加促进韩国语教育更加稳定健康的发展。

1 研究背景

为上海“四个中心”建设培养具有国际竞争能力的各类人才,上海市教委从2009年起开展上海高校示范性全英语教学课程建设,旨在促进和形成一批教学理念先进、教学内容优化、教学方法合理、教学水平高的全英语教学课程,发挥课程的示范辐射作用,提高高等学校教学质量。全英语课程建设3年多来,外国教材中心在教材建设、推动课程建设等方面起到了积极的推动作用。

教材是体现教学内容和教学方法的知识载体,是进行教学的基本工具也是深化教育教学改革、全面推进素质教育、培养创新人才的重要保证。正因此,教材的选用对于我国发展双语教学或全英语教学的重要性不容置疑,可以说它直接关系到上海高校全英语教学改革尝试能否真正达到预期成效。

上海高校外国教材中心经过10几年的发展,已经形成了一定的规模,是上海市教委为高校教学改革提供教材支持的基础设施。在当前上海高校培养具有国际化素养的高素质学生,推进上海高校示范性全英语课程建设过程中承担国外优秀原版教材的提供任务。

在全英语课程建设过程中,我们发现了一些问题,2009年、2010年已订的教材中,重复的课程有7门,但老师们选择的教材却没有相同的。这就给我们提出一个问题,相同的国情,相同的条件,是不是可以选择同一种质量优异、最具影响力的教材?这样就可以联合引进,压低教材价格,同时还能获得出版商赠送的各种教辅和参考教材。这就需要对教材有一个评价方法,以便对教材有一个科学的、客观的与可操作性的评价,从而可以更科学的引进相关教材。

2 目前原版教材引进的模式以及存在的问题

(1)提供国外出版商和国内图书进出口公司的图书征订目录给相关院系的教师,或者组织教师通过海外专家选书系统进行圈选,然后再发单订购;或者是读者推荐订购。在这一选书过程中,图书馆员的作用是微弱的;而教师也只能根据自己的专业知识来选择,具有一定的片面性和局限性。

(2)成批引进世界著名高校的同类专业教材,如复旦大学外国教材中心引进哈佛和麻省理工学院的教学用书。只关注知名的重点大学而忽视其它类型学校的思想,无法反映国外教材的全貌[1]。

(3)东南大学外教中心通过对专业教材被不同学校采用、收藏的数量进行统计,结合布拉德福文献分布与离散定律进行筛选与分区,从而获得被大学广泛收藏和使用的核心教材,然后再根据该方法得出的核心教材进行订购。该方法只从数量上考虑被选书籍的影响力,而忽略了其他的因素,如作者的学术水平、出版社的知名程度、图书价格、出版时间等[2-3]。

对于外国教材的选择与评价的研究国内外均属于起步阶段,且相关研究并不多,基于以上的问题,本文试图通过作者、出版社、出版年份以及图书的版次等来形成一个评价体系,为教材的引进起到指导作用。

3 确立评价模型

3.1 确定数据范围

根据2009-2011年3年全英语课程的学科分布以及时间分布,统计结果如表1所示:

从表1中可以看出管理类和经济类的课程占比例最大,所以选择书目数据时选择经济类的课程,又发现重复的课程是《国际经济学》,所以就以这门课程的相关教材为研究对象。

从表2的统计结果可以看出使用的教材80%以上是近3年的,所以就以《国际经济学》近3年的教材为研究对象。

3.2 数据的获取

Amazon书店是全球最大网络版书籍名称查询系统,涵盖全球超过1 100万本在印、脱印以及即将出版的纸本书籍、电子书籍等。提供模糊检索,可以获取有关于某一专业的所有已经出版、正在出版和将要出版的教材,包括已经绝版的教材,因此非常适用于本研究之用。因此在确定了研究范围后,通过检索Amazon网络,获取如表3所示的样本数据。

3.3 确定评价方法

根据Amazon获得的样本书目数据,接下来就是要对这些教材按照某种评价结果排序。通过查阅大量文献,不难发现教材的质量和作者水平高低、出版社、出版时间、图书的版次、以及价格等因素都有关系的。因此确定这些因素均为评价指标,一般认为作者学术水平越高,出版的图书越多,因此编著的书籍就具有较高的质量与学科前沿性。我们认为出版社的影响力是根据该出版社在专业领域出版的该类图书数量比重来决定的,因此通过Amazon获取该出版社的影响因子;图书出版的次数越多,表明图书的学术水平越高。

由这些评价指标,建立评价模型:

评价集A={a1,a2,a3,a4,a5},其中a1表示作者,a2表示出版社、a3表示出版年份、a4表示图书版次、a5表示价格

权重系数Ci归一化,即∑ci=1

最后得出综合值D=∑aici

根据各个因素对教材的影响程度,确定权重系数:

C1=0.25;C2=0.1;C3=0.2;C4=0.3;C5=0.15

计算各个评价指标的值:

作者a1=作者出书量/样本中所有作者出书量的平均值;

出版社a2=(出版社在某专业领域的出书量/该专业领域的所有图书量)×100;

出版年份a3=n(选取教材的年数)/(当前年份-出版年+1);

版次a4=该书版次/样本中所有教材的版次平均值;

价格a5=样本中所有教材的平均价格/该书价格。

D=∑aici,根据这个模型计算每本教材的最后得分,按照得分进行排序。计算结果并从高到低排序如表4所示:

本结果是按照评价模型计算出的最后得分进行排序的,表4只列出了排在前10名的教材,表中排在第6位的教材就是全英语课程老师选择的教材。本研究只是从文献的角度来对教材排序,但最后的结果是在此基础上请相关领域的专家进行遴选。通过这样的研究,就可以对教材有一个科学的、客观的与可操作的事先评价行为,从而形成一个推荐教材目录,让老师在有限的范围中选则高质量的教材。

4 待研究的问题

确定评价指标值的准确度还有待提高,作者的出书量只是一个快捷的统计方法,理想的方法是统计作者发表论文的数量、被引频次、H指数等更多的指标,在采集这些数据时,对于作者甄别也还是有一定难度。权重系数还需进一步的优化,使得统计结果更准确一些。可以再加入世界大学使用情况等因素作为评价指标。
