1.冠词是否使用正确, 或是多余。在短文改错中, 英语虽然有三个冠词, 但学生用起来却很复杂———错误不外乎该用冠词时没有用, 不该用时却用了;该用an用了a, 该用a (n) 却用了the;其实如果理解其中的奥妙, 就会发现冠词原来也很简单。

(1) 可数名词单数前翻译有“一”及固定短语用a/an, an后面的单词必须是元音开头。

(2) 名词后有后置定语、无“一”的意思及固定搭配用the。

如短文 (5) As result, 很明显是固定搭配As a result 漏掉了a。

2.介词。检查介词主要是查介词与动词、形容词、名词的搭配, 介词惯用词组及其意思等是否正确。如短文中 (2) and with the help by our father, 在谁的帮助下的短语应该是:with the help of sb.或with one’s help, 因此该把by改成of。

第二步, 结合上下文, 逐个翻译句子, 找出代词、连词、副词、数词的错误运用

1.代词。对于短文中出现的每一个代词都要查一下它所指代的内容及其在句中的作用, 注意其数、格、词性是否正确和前后是否一致, 常考的代词包括人称代词、指示代词、反身代词、关系代词及疑问代词等。如He drove too fast, and the police stopped her.前面提到的是he而后面却用her来替代, 故应将her改为him

2.连词。短文改错中出现连词就要判断连词用得是否正确, 是否符合句子的意思;连接的是词还是句子, 是否符合逻辑关系。此外, 如果是平行结构就要注意前后时态、语态、词性的一致问题, 平行结构常借助与并列连词and, or, but, not only...but also..., not...but..., ei-ther...or..., neither...nor..., as well as等。如短文 (9) but we have never had any disease or insect attack problems其中的but肯定是错的, 因为有though或although引导的让步状语从句是不能出现but的, 故删去but或改but为yet。

3.副词。短文改错中出现的副词比较容易找, 只要结合意思及常规表达就可以发现错误:如短文 (1) Nearly five years before, 和 (6) the plants are growing somewhere常规表达 “五年前———five years ago或before five years”因此应改before为ago;而根据文中意思, 圣女果长得泛滥, 应该到处都是而不是只长在某个地方, 所以应把somewhere改为everywhere。

4.数词。数词是否准确, 是基数词还是序数词, 序数词前翻译出来会有“第几”的意思。

第三步, 查找全文中的动词、形容词、名词等词用法的错误

1.动词:谓语动词与非谓语动词。

(1) 谓语动词。谓语动词的错误是历年考试的重点和热点, 常见动词错误类型有 (1) 动词时态:一般现在时与一般过去时错用;上下文提示忽略;and前后动词时态不一致。 (2) 人称:主谓不一致;第三人称单数形式错用。 (3) 语态:主动语态和被动语态错用;缺少动词, 特别是be动词。如短文 (3) for all these year— (4) we had been allo-wing tomatoes to self-seed where they please.从for all these year, 我们知道 (4) 的句子时态应该是现在完成时而非过去完成时, 所以应改had为have。

(2) 非谓语动词。不定式、动名词作主语和宾语时;and连接的不定式或动名词前后不一致 (尤其距离较远时) ;介词后用动名词形式作宾语;某些动词后要求接动名词或不定式;动词作状语时主动与被动误用;动词作宾补时形式错用。如I wanted to get my hair to cut.事实上to cut作my hair的宾补, 与它构成被动的关系, 故应用过去分词cut。

2.名词。名词的常见错误:单复数名词错用, 可数名词与不可数名词错用。其解决办法:主要是查名词是否可数, 与其修饰语是否一致。 如短文 (3) for all these year, year很明显是可数名词, 再加上前面的修饰词these+名词复数, 可知year应是years; (8) There are so much that we often share them with our neighbours.从句子里面的are和them可知much修饰的是可数名词圣女果, 故改为many。另一方面, 不可数名词切记莫加s;如常见的information;advice等。

3.形容词与副词。人们常说形副不分家, 这是有道理的, 因为形容词和副词经常会被误用;解决的办法: (1) 形容词。 系动词后用形容词 (be/am/is/are/was/were/become/go/感官性动词smell/feel) ;形容词修饰名词。 (2) 副词。独立结构用副词;修饰动词用副词;副词修饰形容词。其次, 注意形容词与副词的误用:比较级与最高级;and前后形式的一致。如短文 (7) but juicy and taste, taste与juicy要保持一致, 再根据句子结构, 这里描述的是圣女果的特征, 应用形容词, 因此改taste为tasty。 (10) We are growing wonderfully tomatoes at no cost!wonderfully后面的是tomatoes (名词) , 根据形容词修饰名词这一特点, 很容易知道wonderfully错了, 应是wonderful。

最后, 为了达到获取最高分的目的, 一定要规范答题, 掌握答题技巧, 严格按照考试说明操作, 尽量减少人为因素而造成的失分。高考短文改错题前面有一段文字说明, 详细地指导了短文改错的具体操作过程。历届高考短文改错的说明大体相同, 大家平时训练就应严格按此要求操作, 规范答题, 养成良好的解题习惯, 不能因没有规划答题而白白丢掉能得的分数, 做题时还要注意一些细节。

(1) 要密切关注行尾和行首的接连处, 注意它们之间的语法关系或逻辑关系, 尽快找到设错点, 从而尽快改正。

(2) 要以句子为单位而不是以行为单位进行判断。改错题的要求是每行找出一处错误, 但在找错时不能以行为单位来找, 要以完整的句子为语言单位进行判断。

一、把短文改错融于平时的教学之中,选择有效的训练方式

要做好短文改错,平时必须加强训练,并且一定要注意训练方式。只有通过大量的练习,做起题来才会得心应手。

1.讲课时要注意提醒学生改正常犯的错误。学生经常易犯的错误往往会体现在短文改错之中,教师要充分分析归纳错误的类型及语境,平时训练要朝着这个方向努力。

2.教师讲评作文体现短文的改错思想。学生的作文,往往有许多错误,在评讲作文时,一定要告诉学生为什么错了,并作改正。必要时,还要让学生之间互相批改,然后老师再点评。所有学生的作文都是活生生的短文改错实例。以这种方式训练,一方面可以提高学生的作文水平,另一方面也训练到了短文改错。

3.批改作业促进短文改错水平的提高。学生作业,难免会有这样或那样错误。教师要尽量把这些错误挖掘出来,然后加以归类,一一给学生讲评,使其改正。这样学生的英语能力就会得到显著提高了。
