《高中英语课程标准》明确指出,高中口语教学的目的是提高说的准确性、得体性、流利性和连贯性,增强语感。然而客观地反思我们近年来高中英语口语课的教学实践,speaking还没有实现真正意义上的突破。在现行的高中英语课堂教学中,教师过多地把精力集中在语言知识的讲解上,其运用只是停留在模拟的情景中,忽视了对学生创造性地运用语言知识能力的培养,他们不能自如地在真实的情景中运用外语进行日常会话,交流信息和思想感情。为了更好地贯彻教育部关于《英语课程标准》的精神,培养学生在新的情景中创造性的运用所学语言与别人交际信息的能力,我们实施了创设高中英语有效对话教学的探究。

一、从朗读入手,寻找对话教学的突破口并促进对话教学

针对对话教学地位重要却又难于实施开展的被动局面,我们可以在平时教学中从朗读入手,寻找对话教学的突破口并促进口语教学。培养学生良好的语言感觉,朗读是基础。朗读有助于提高记忆效果,朗读有助于培养语感。模仿能引发创造,朗读能促进口语。朗读训练方式有很多,有课堂上的整体朗读和个别朗读,也有课后的自由朗读等。

二、开发课程资源,灵活使用教材,创设良好的语言环境

对于高中起始阶段的英语口语教学来说,固然可以利用教科书安排教学活动,对培养学生的英语口语能力会起到一定的效果。仅仅利用教科书是远远不够的,还应适当补充其他教材,通过保证足够的教学时间和选用丰富多彩的教学内容。英语教学要力求合理利用和积极开发课程资源,要积极利用广播、电视、书报杂志、网络信息等丰富的教学资源,拓展学习和运用英语的渠道;积极鼓励和支持学生主动参与课程资源的开发和利用,让学生全面接触适合他们学习的语言材料,还应注意在校园和教室里,让学生最大限度地感受英语氛围:可在校内设置英语标示语、开辟英语专栏、书写英语祝福语、设立英语角等;也可在教室里张贴英语课程表,开辟英语园地。

三、立足课堂,提高学生英语口语能力

1.营造一个适宜学生开口的环境。大多学生不但课下不愿意说英语,课上也不愿意开口。在很多情况下,学生出错是因为他们太紧张而造成的,所以,为学生创造一个适宜说英语的环境是课堂教学的主要契机,这有助于学生积极和正确地练习说英语。英语教师应努力创造一种轻松愉快的说英语的气氛,消除学生的紧张和恐惧心理。根据不同的话题,可以进行科学的分组,尽量把学生分成对或组,如果可能的话,让他们预先准备他们的观点,把全班同学分组,同时让每个组选出一位组长,一位记录员,一位发言人。有了明确的任务和分工,这样讨论的效果通常比一般的自由讨论要好得多。讨论时学生可以相视而坐,像座谈会一样,以增加课堂的亲切气氛。当学生用英语回答问题或表达自己的观点时,允许学生坐在座位上,而不是站着说,这样他们感到更自然。

3.教师要有适当的评价体系。新课程改革要求教师采用多元的、多样化的评价机制。改革评价体系,确立具体评价体系,实施形成性评价,建立学生《个人成长档案袋》,注重学生在评价过程中的主体地位,引导学生进行自我评价和合作评价。评价项目包括口语、课堂学习及策略运用、书面作业、平常小测、组际竞赛(合作学习)各方面,采用自评、组评、家长老师评价相结合方式,使学生在英语学习过程中不断体验到自己的进步和成功,从而培养和激发起学习英语积极性和自信心,提高综合运用语言能力。

许多情况下,我们用一般疑问句(Yes-No Question)提问,其实并不特别在乎那个“是”或“否”的回答。比如在日常聊天中,我们问别人“你看过这部电影吗?”,其实看没看过并不重要,我们更多的是在引起话题,让对话进行下去。如果对方只回答一句“看过”或是“没看过”就没有了下文,我们一定会觉得十分无趣。面试也一样,当面试官提出一个“Yes-No Question”时,不要仅用“是”或“否”来回答。我们需要在回答“是”或“否”之后,再用一个具体的事例来补充说明。比如面试官问你:“Do you think you can handle stress well? (你觉得你能很好地应对压力吗?)”你除了回答“Yes”之外,还需要谈谈过去应对压力的经历和经验。很多时候即便你不说,面试官也会继续发问,让你举例说明。与其被动回答,还不如自己主动地、一次性地、完整地回答,从而给面试官留下更好的印象。

2. 应对困难的问题

面试中难免会碰到一些一时难以回答的问题,有的同学一紧张,“嗯”“啊”了半天也说不出个所以然来。其实这个时候我们完全可以使用一些常用的口语句子来缓冲,比如“It's hard to say. (这个很难说。)”“That's a difficult question. (这是个挺难的问题。)”“Well, let me think. (嗯,让我想一想。)”等。我们可以说得稍微慢一点,为自己争取几秒钟的思考时间。还有一种非常简单的方法也可以起到简单的缓冲作用,为自己争取一些思考的时间,让自己可以组织思路,并避免冷场。这个方法就是将对方的问题改变人称后重复一下,比如对方问你:“What do you think?”你可以先说:“What do I think? Well ... (我怎么看这个问题?嗯……)”再比如对方问你:“What was your biggest achievement in your high school?”你可以先说:“What was my biggest achievement in my high school? Well ... (我在高中时期最大的收获是什么?嗯……)”

3. 让面试官说话

有的同学认为在面试中自己说得越多越好,成功的可能性也越大。其实,面试是一个双方互动、双向选择的过程。在面试中,你可以适当地向面试官提出一些问题,这样既可以表现出你对其学校或公司感兴趣,又能展现你的理性思考能力。从人的心理来说,听一个人讲话太久难免会觉得有点无聊,哪怕是在一场面试中,因此能有机会自己说一说,面试官也会觉得很愉快。比如在工作面试中,你可以关心一下公司的发展情况:“So, the company is doing very well in this sector and is looking to expand to foreign markets?
