篇3：“原生态”英语作文常见错误分析

对于大学新生来说,马上做到表达地道,内容安排清楚(14分档)几乎是不可能的。最为实际的做法是帮助他们打好写作基本功,完成8分档或者11分档的基本要求:有少量或者无(严重)语法错误。

1 写作常见错误

1.1 写作实验

以往的教学实践中,要求学生们牢记语法要求,再写作,然后一一纠正。笔者认为这样做工作量非常大,而且学生印象不深刻,甚至会质疑自己的英语水平。事实上对于在中国学习英语的学生来说,无法完全做到“think in English”,更多倾向于将脑海中的中文翻译成英文,而在这个过程中由于中英文的巨大差异而无意识地造成了所谓的“语法”错误。

笔者在所教的四个非英语专业共两百名大一新生进行新的写作尝试,要求他们以“Unexpected Money”为题,在限定的时间内,不注重传统语法,不注重内容的连接性,“想到什么写什么”,即“原生态”写作,并从中英文化差异的角度总结了以下问题。

1.2 写作常见问题

1.2.1 词层面的错误

英语当中的词类分为“名代动形副,介连冠感数”。其中名词,代词,动词与汉语相应的词类有着极大的差异。

1)名词。众所周知,英语中的名词分为可数和不可数。而汉语名词没有可数不可数之分,“汉语名词的复数也没有词形变化,很多情况不必表达出来。”(张培基等,2003:62)因此学生通常直译汉语名词而不关注其为可数不可数或者单复数形式。如:

If I get many unexpected money,I will do a plan of how to use them.

2)代词。“英语不喜欢重复,如果在一句话里或相连的几句话里需要重复某个词语,则用代词来代替,或以其他手段来避免重复。汉语不怕重复连续使用某个词语是常见的事。汉语也用代词,但不如英语用得多。”(庄绎传,1999)由于这点,几乎90%以上的学生均在文章中不断重复unexpected money或者money,甚少使用代词。

除此之外,人称代词跳跃也是十分严重的问题。比如全篇叙述角度不统一,让读者十分迷茫。如:

Maybe everybody have the experience that you get some unexpected money by chance.

3)动词。动词常犯的错误在于及物不及物,动词时态,和虚拟语气等差别。

由于中文在于意合,动词跟不跟宾语取决于意思完不完整,如:I didn't realize./I look him.

除此之外,“汉语动词没有词形变化,表达时态要靠增加汉语特有的时态助词或一般表示时间的词。”(张培基,2003:63)如:着、了、过等。因此学生们在写英语句子时往往忽略了其时态。如:

When I am a child,my mother always give me extra money

第三,虚拟语气。英语中与现实相反的事必须用虚拟语气表示,而汉语没有如此的变化。如:

If I am a billionaire,I will buy a house for my parents.

1.2.2 句子层面的错误

1)简单句基本结构。众所周知,英语陈述句的五种基本句型为:主谓(名动),主谓宾(名动名),主谓表(名动名/形),主谓宾宾(名动名名),主谓宾宾补(名动名/形)。由于其重形合,简单陈述句中(包括其中的从句)这些基本成分缺一不可,而且主语必须由名词性的成分承担,否则视为“严重语法错误”。然而汉语重意合,“句子单位并不是非常严格,一般一个句子是以言尽为界”。(杨玉晨,闻兆荣,1994)因此主语非名词性、句子成分不完整或者画蛇添足等错误就情有可原了,如:

Have the money doesn’t mean all over.

Used in a wrong way may lead people to a criminal way.

或者,

Not only the unexpected money,but also the other things.

His heart doesn't steady and sure.

That we will get more.

Secondly,for my family.A wonderful car,BMW,for my daddy.Found a fine place to build up a big house for them and an automatical kitchen.

又如,按照英语基本句型的要求,句子必须有且仅有一个主谓语动词(并列主谓语除外),其他的动词必须处理成非谓语动词形式。如以下的“画蛇添足”型,

I saw a man standing next his car was very unhappy.

2)中式英语。中式英语往往是从汉语直接翻译而来的结果,可以分为两种情况:

(1)主谓或谓宾逻辑搭配不当,如:

The unexpected money is very lucky to the people who find it.

My bedroom had more books.

Unexpected money isn’t always have,but the dreams always have.

Their friendship got closer.

(2)主谓或谓宾逻辑搭配合理,但表达不够地道,如:

We should change our old mind.

My feeling was so good.

There are many ways that people can get the unexpected money.

…asked her when she picked up the money,where she picked up the money.

3)并列句或复合句。英语与汉语不同,两个简单句之间不能简单地用逗号连接,必须使用并列或从属连词使其变成并列或复合句。加上连词的简单句称为从句,否则称之为主句。然而不用连词或者加上连词后的句子以句号结束的现象比比皆是,如:

I use money,I like money.

I really enjoyed the time with them.Because I felt that I was not lonely,I was also a part of them.

除此之外,滥用连词也是极为常见的错误。如:

Money is everything,so if someone has much unexpected money,they would use it to do some bad things.

2“原生态”作文的启示

先让学生做“原生态”的作文,然后从中英文差异的角度总结归纳这些错误,既顾及到了学生的自尊心,明白这些问题的根结所在,又能从根本解决问题。在大一英语教学初级阶段,应该多让学生完成类似的练习。

但是要注意三点问题:1)尽量选择贴近学生生活的作文题目,避免他们无话可说;2)“避免使用地方文化色彩太浓的题目,以免过分刺激中国式英语。”(王初明,牛瑞英,郑小湘,2000);3)尽量让他们在有限的时间写更长的文章,从而缩短思考的时间,暴露更多的错误。

然而这种“原生态”写法只适用于初级阶段的教学,仅限于帮助学生解决语言表面的问题。在此基础上,还应采取其他方法帮助他们写出更漂亮的文章。

高考书面表达要求考生根据所给题目写一篇书面材料，要做到内容符合要求，语句通顺，条理清楚。它类似于翻译，又不同于翻译。考生要想在书面表达中获取高分，除了要点齐全，语法正确外，还必须能运用较复杂的句子结构，较高级的词语及一些过渡性词语。而高中生特别是高一新生在书面表达中得分非常低，甚至不少学生作文25分的满分只得几分，学生平时作文中常出现的一些错误总结如下。

一、“…有…”的汉语句子错误地表达为“there have/has…”

典型错误：There have many old buildings in our hometown.

这是学生从初中延续过来的一种典型错误。许多学生每天不遗余力地背单词，而对单词的用法、意义不求甚解，“have=有”，就这样刻在他记忆深处，于是碰到“…有…”就用“There have/has…”。英语中表示“…有…”的这类句子均属于存在句，最常见的“There be…”句型。

正确表达：There are many old buildings in our hometown.

除了最常见的“There be…”句型外，类似的说法还有There lives… There seems… There stands… There used to be …等等，都不能用There have…表示。例如：

There lived an old monk in the mountain.

There stands a TV tower in the center of the city.

注：哪里有用there be 句型；某人某物拥有用have/has，例如：

He has many friends.

There are about 6000 students in our school.

二、少谓语动词或多谓语动词

和汉语句子不一样的是，英语句子都离不开动词，而且一句话只能有一个谓语动词，但有些学生受汉语的影响，写出的是汉语式的英语，有的一句话里没有一个谓语动词，而有的又出现多处谓语动词。

典型错误：

We always working till midnight before taking exams.

We should read books may be useful to us.

Li hua was a Chinese student studied in America.

The driver of the red car was died on the spot.

正确表达：

We are always working till midnight before taking exams.

We should read books that may be useful to us.

三、动词、名词不分

典型错误：Learn English is not difficult.

正确表达：Learning English is not difficult.

汉语多用动词，英语多用名词，这是两种语言的不同表达习惯。在英语中做主语一定不能用动词，可以用名词或动名词等。对英语语法了解不足，缺乏词法、句法概念，是犯这类错误的主要原因。

四、“有…在做某事”中的动词错误

典型错误：There are some students study in the classroom.

这类错误在低学段学生习作里比较常见，在高中阶段仍时有发生。

英语中同类意义的动词并列，表示第次发生。但是像“某某人在做什么”，“有…在做某事”之类的句中，英语中可以用以下表达：

Some students are studying in the classroom.

There are some students studying in the classroom.

There are many students who are studying in the classroom.

五、形容词、副词意义不分

受汉语的表达习惯影响，学生忽视了在英语中形容词和副词的功能不同。在英语中形容词多用来作定语或表语等，而副词常作状语。有些学生懂得什么时候该用哪一类词，但是一说出来或写出来，就不由自主地出错了。如果你写在黑板上问他“这样对吗？”他立刻明白错哪里了。

典型错误：

It made me happily.

She sings beautiful.

The house is environmental friendly.

正确表达：

It made me happy.

She sings beautifully.
