⑵“我懂得衰亡民族之所以默无声息的缘由了。”

“缘由”就是反动统治者不但极端凶残地屠杀人民,而且还用文的一手,进行严酷的思想统治。作者的思路是从揭露武的一手到揭露文的一手。反革命的两手是中国历反动统治者惯用的手法,屠刀加箝口术,致使老百姓敢怒不敢言,默无声息,衰弱不振。

⑶“当三个女子从容地辗转于文明人所发明的枪弹的攒射中的时候,这是怎样的一个惊心动魄的伟大呵!中国军人的屠戮妇婴的伟绩,八国联军的惩创学生的武功,不幸全被这几缕血痕抹杀了。”

“伟大”指三个女子伟大。“从容地辗转”是概括她们互相救助的情况。如此沉勇如此友爱,其精神之伟大确实令人惊心动魄。“枪弹的攒射”给凶残的执政府以辛辣的嘲讽。屠戮妇婴与惩创学生,是互文,同指制造“三·一八”惨案。在三个女子从容沉勇友爱的伟大精神反衬下,中外杀人者显得更加卑劣凶残。“伟绩”“武功”是他们自己的夸耀,鲁迅用这两个词,当然是反语。

⑷“苟活者在淡红的血色中,会依稀看见微茫的希望;真的猛士,将更奋然而前行。”

“苟活”,苟且图生存的意思。“苟活”是鲁迅的自我贬抑,说明他对自己的解剖确实到了无情的地步,他不惜贬抑自己来映衬刘和珍等人勇毅的形象,其实鲁迅是大智大勇的真的猛士。“真的猛士”首先是作者的自我策励。同时,这又是战斗的号召,鲁迅希望越来越多的人像他一样,看到希望,为希望所鼓舞,奋然前行。

本句的“苟活者”与第三部分“苟活”一语相对照,但范围扩大了。本句肯定了刘和珍牺牲对两类人(“苟活者”和“真的猛士”)所起的积极作用,抒发了崇敬之情,表现了决意奋进、义无反顾之意。

⑸“我将深味这非人间的浓黑的悲凉;以我的哀痛显示于非人间,使它们快意于我的苦痛,就将这作为后死者的菲薄的祭品,奉献于逝者的灵前。”
