1.情态动词。情态动词是具有一定词义,能表示说话者对主要动词所表示的动作或状态的某种看法,没有人称和数的变化,不能单独作为主语,必须和另一个动词原型构成谓语。情态动词有can-could,will-would,shall-should,may-might,must,need,dare等。

2.动词be。动词be是个连系动词(系动词),一般不能独立使用,必须在后面接表语(名词、形容词、介词短语等)才能表达完整的意思,说明主语“是什么”或者“处于某种状态”、“在何处”,动词be包括am,is,are,was,were。

3.助动词。我认为助动词应该分为两类,一类是帮助构成时态、语态的词,这类词本身无意义,起着帮助的作用,用来构成时态、语态。时态如进行时态am/is/are doing现在进行时及was/were doing过去进行时中的be;完成时态have/has,done现在完成时态及had done过去完成时态中的have/has、had。语态中构成被动语态be done,又分为一般时态的被动语态、进行时态的被动语态和完成时态的被动语态。列举下来,被动语态一览表如下(6种常用时态):

在这6种时态中,be done的助动词为be;be being done的助动词为be;have/has/had done的助动词为have/has/had。

还有一类是助动词do/does/did,无实际意义,后加动词原形一起构成谓语。否定结构为don’t,doesn’t,didn’t后加动词原形,有人称和时态的变化:一般现在时中do/does(does为主语是第三人称单数);一般过去时用did,千万要记住do/does/did作为助动词时后加动词原形。

下面将这几类词进行排序,情态动词是老大,句子中有情态动词要先考虑使用情态动词;动词be是老二,当是be作为谓语时,没有情态动词就考虑使用be动词;然后考虑有没有时态的be doing的be,have/has/had done的have/has/had,被动语态的be done的be,be being done的be,以及have/has/had been done的have/has/had,若句中没有上述的三类词则可以考虑do/does/did。例如:

在初中英语教学中,英语句型操练与语法教学,就其两者的关系而论,它们既有各自的特点和任务,又是相辅相成、有机结合的统一体。英语句型练习可为学生提供句子的典型结构,为英语语法提供大量的感性材料,有助于学生掌握英语语法规则。英语句型是学习英语语法的起点,反过来说,学习英语语法是学习英语句型的发展和提高。于是,就教學过程而论,在英语句型的基础上学习英语语法知识,在学习英语语法知识的过程中进行英语句型操练,是“实践——理论——再实践”的认识逐步深化的过程。

初中英语教师应认真研究教材中句型教学安排的体系和各课句型操练的要点,用科学方法操练,努力提高句型教学的质量。英语句型教学应注意以下几点:

一、整体性

英语句型操练是英语语法教学的基础。这是从两者的关系这一角度而言,而不应误解为句型操练的任务仅是为语法教学服务,为语法教学打基础。应该认识到,句子是语言应用的单位,任何一个句子都能包括语音、词汇和语法这三项语言要素。因此,句型教学必须坚持以句子为单位,语音、词汇和语法综合教学的原则。要整句教,整句学,这样才能做到出口成“句”,学以致用。在句型操练中,学生不仅要掌握这一句型的语法形式,还应掌握它的语音形式以及组成这些句子的词语。离开了语音和词汇,语法形式也就无法存在。

句型练习体现该课的语法重点,通过句子的操练,掌握所学句型的用法。对话或课文则复习已学各课和该课的句型。两者紧密联系,相辅相成。教学对话或课文时要以句型操练的内容为重点,巩固句型训练的成果,到下一步语法归纳时便可以获得水到渠成之效。

二、实践性

英语句型,重在操练。不能把句型作为语法例句来处理,只满足于学生对语法结构的认识。要从听说入手,反复操练,直到操练掌握,形成语感,建立一套新的语言习惯。

在反复操练的过程中,要注意练习形式和内容的多样化,防止以单一的形式,鹦鹉学舌地机械跟说,使学生产生厌倦之感。要注意操练的密度、广度和速度,做到量和质的统一,要让全班学生都能得到充分的操练机会。教师要随时注意训练效果,根据反馈情况及时调整教学步骤与方法,不能追求形式,赶进度,走过场。

三、阶段性

1. 呈现新句型呈现新句型应该由旧到新,辅以实物、图片、动作、表情、声调等手段,设置情景,激发学生的学习兴趣,把学生的注意力自然地引到将要学习的句型上。

(1)用实物对比。教These(Those)are…和They’re…句型时,教师可通过复习旧句型—What’s this(that)?—It’s a…和This(That)is a…引到新句型。通过反复比较,使学生建立单数和复数的概念。

(2)有动作表情。教Where is (are) …?句型时,教师可故作找物状,引出该句型。做法是:复习What’s this?或What are these?句型引出一些实物,有意将某一实物用后放在不显眼处,然后以复习提问的形式,重现上面出现的实物。在进行中,教师故意装出寻找某一实物的表情和动作(摸口袋、寻视讲桌等)。同时说:Where is…?(连说两三遍)根据这一情景,学生完全可以理解这一句型的意义,而引起学生帮助教师寻找该物的反应,甚至有的学生会由此做出It’s…(They’re…)的回答。这就达到了理想的效果。继之,教师应继续设置一些情景,用这一句型自问自答,以加深学生对这一句型的认识。

(3)用图画配合课堂实情。教现在进行时的句型时,教师可事先准备好画有各种人物动作的卡片,教学时有计划地出现,逐步引出所要教的句型

因此,教师应该创造性地利用各种教学手段,以生动活泼的形式将所要教的句型形象地展现在学和面前,使学生在心情愉快和注意力集中的气氛中认识和理解新的句型,从而获得深刻的印象。句型引出后,教师应用醒目的形式将所学句型写在黑板上,并对其结构形式、语法意义和语音形式作简要的分析,以便向操练过渡,克服操练的盲目性。

2、句型操练在句型呈现之后应紧接着进行大量的操练。操练可分为三个步骤:

(1)机械性操练。机械性操练即模仿性操练,其目的在于使学生熟悉、记住并流利地说出所学句型。操练的方法有复述法、替代法、问答法、转换法(如时态、语态、引语的变换)、并句法(如将两个简单句合半为一个复合句)等。操练时应兼顾音、形、义三者,不仅要学生理解英语句型的结构形式和语法意义,而且要掌握其语音、语调,由正确朗读到上口熟练,直至能脱口而出。

在机械模仿操练的过程中,学生的注意力主要集中在“be+现在分词”这个语法形式上,而不在句子的意义上。这种训练,好在学生易于作出迅速而正确的反应,有助于掌握句型的结构;而弊在缺乏意义,学生只是随口而出,难以做到因实际需要而灵活运用,加之这种“鹦鹉学舌”的形式,机械单调,枯燥无味,学生易于疲劳。所以,机械操练的时间切勿过长。学生一旦掌握句型结构,就应转向有意义的操练。

(2)有意义的操练。有意义的操练是形式与内容相结合的操练,是由认识到技能形成的过程。开始作有意义的操练时,学生的思维状态往往是形式与内容并重,随时对句型结构的逐步熟练,思维重心就逐步转移到句子的意义上。操练应以学生活动为主,教师仅起组织指导作用。操练时要有为操练提供内容的情景。可以因情景的需要引出本课将要学习的生词。操练方法应随句型特点而异。可在问答(教师问、学生答——学生问、教师答——学生互相问答)的基础上叙述。

(3)模拟交际性操练。模拟交际性操练是有意义操练的发展和提高。在操练的过程中,学生的能动性更大,目的在于培养学生灵活运用的能力。它与有意义操练的显著差别在于:第一,不仅语言形式要正确,而且内容要符合真实情景;第二,学生叙述的内容有较大的灵活性,可因交际的需要围绕新句型进行。
