Drama is a way of sharing my thoughts and desires, as well as expressing my inner self. It is the motivation that drives me through any challenge. I am a well organised, hard working, self motivated and keen person who loves to learn as an individual or as a team. I discovered drama in primary school, and developed my interest through secondary education where I promptly became involved in the ‘Drama after School Club’. Since then my love for the theatre has grown. My course is really enjoyable and rewarding, and I love learning more about theatre, therefore, I want to find a drama course which allows me to explore all the aspects of the theatre in the hope of gaining a better understanding of how the business of the industry works.

During secondary school I was involved in the school choir, later I volunteered to deliver the Christmas hampers, which were made to give to the elderly around the area. In year 11 I was chosen as part of the ACES programme, a project that runs parallel with the Mentoring Education Achievement that encourages young people to achieve high in their GCSEs. I am also a young leader at the local Brownies where I coordinate crafts, write the annual letters to the parents and lead other activities with the team. I’m always getting involved in productions outside of college. I was recently involved in a pantomime at the local church where I played a variety of major and minor roles. In the past I have experienced styles of dancing, performing to the young and the elderly. As a hobby I enjoy kayaking, it is a good way to relax and escape distraction. I took up playing the piano and love to learn new pieces of music. Additionally, I sketch and write poems which, I publish on the internet forum/blogs.

In college I aim for my work to reach a high standard and if I need to, I will improve work in my spare time to reach the grades that I am capable of achieving. In the course I have already studied practitioners from 20th century European and world wide drama which includes O’Neil, Mamet, Godber, Artaud, Cartwright and Irvine Welsh. I have also studied Stanislavski and his methods of naturalistic acting including emotional memory and in contrast to him, Brecht and his Epic Theatre. I have had experience at being a set designer, which included sketching possible set ideas and organising everyone to help with the creation of the set. As part of the acting unit, we had to research, write and adapt existing text to create our own monologue which we then performed for assessment. I have been studying various styles of scriptwriting, from this I will have attempted my own in the styles, later on in the unit I will be writing a ten minute long script which will be performed. At the moment I am devising a performance based around a political issue; this will later be toured at secondary schools. I have performed in many devised and improvisational performances, which have helped me to communicate between my fellow colleagues. I have found that I am more comfortable at spontaneous improvising. I have assisted a door supervisor’s course by role playing situations for them. This opportunity was extremely fun and enabled me to use my ability in a different surrounding. At the end of my first year at college I participated in the Derek Jacobi Festival, where I directed the play ‘Noises Off’ by Michael Frayne, where I and my cast were rewarded with best actor, best performance and the staff discretionary award. It was such an interesting and delightful experience to direct my fellow colleagues.

Overall I am a hard working person, who is keen to get on with work, and will try their best to succeed. Once I have completed this degree course I intend to go to drama school, to study a postgraduate course depending on my chosen discipline. Therefore to pursue my ambitions I believe studying your drama course will benefit me and I will be an asset to your institution.

1.英语语言水平考试

2.德语水平考试

对外国留学生而言,最重要的德语考试自然是大学的入学语言考试,而瑞士留学语言考试会在开学前由目标大学或是弗里堡大学语言班或是大学预科班举办,一年会举行两次。除此以外,瑞士比较具有公信力的德语考试都是由歌德大学举办的,其中会有一般的德文语言能力考试,也会有职业导向德语考试的。与中国留学生相关的考试有 ZMP(中级德语考试)和ZOP(高级德语考试),因为目前越来越多瑞士学校在学生申请入学的时候就要求必须通过这个考试。

3. 法语水平考试

目前法语水平的通用衡量标准为《欧洲语言共同参考框架》,语言水平从低到高分为A1到C2六个等级。而原则上瑞士公立大学要求申请入学的非法语母语的学生至少拥有B2或C1的法语水平。瑞士大学认可的法语能力证书包括DELF(法语学习文凭)、DALF(法语文凭)和DHEF(高等法语学习文凭)等。

瑞士留学申请流程

一、递交材料

在正式提出申请之前,大家需要提前将材料准备好,要收集的材料有很多,需要小心仔细,千万不要遗漏任何东西,尽管后续可以补交,但是会耽误申请的时间。

按照要求将软硬件材料和辅助材料准备好之后,大家就可以正式递交申请了,首先要将网申递交,这样才方便学校录取结果的发放。

二、获取通知

三、缴纳学费

四、准备签证

交完学费之后,就开始准备签证吧,办签证需要的材料,包括护照、录取通知书和学费缴纳确认信。

Art is a regular hobby of mine, and studying it in school not only made meexperiment with different media and techniques, but at A2, it allowed me tothink like an artist and understand, for example, the symbolism of aPre-Raphaelite painting such as Ophelia. Not having studied Art at GCSE meantthat I had to learn new techniques such as mono-printing or dry point within ashort amount of time and this progress is shown in my AS sketchbooks.

Mathematics is a subject I have enjoyed throughout my school years, howeverI believe my AS grade does not reflect my full potential. Classical Civilisationwas a subject that I thoroughly enjoyed at GCSE. The modules within the courseled me to research about the history of architecture during the Greek and Romanperiods. I learned about the detail in which buildings were designed, from thefrieze on temples to common buildings such as homes and various key elementswhich reflected a part of their culture.

English Literature allowed me to broaden my knowledge of Literature bystudying novels and poems. This subject has also taught me how to understandsomeone else’s opinion and counteract with a valid argument throughessay-writing and class debates. I feel that this quality will be helpful whendiscussing social and environmental aspects of designing buildings.

Computing enables me to understand the way in which a system works, and theopportunity to create my own system as part of my A2 unit led me to understandseveral aspects of computers such as programming, creating databases and workingwith clients. I have been interested in CAD since I was introduced to it brieflyduring Textiles Technology at GCSE and since then, I have practiced personalprojects with programs such as Photoshop and AutoCAD.

I enjoy helping with teaching lower school students as I usually help outin art lessons on a weekly basis and have also taken part in a peer mentoringscheme in which I was able to guide Year 11 students for their GCSE exams. Thisis something from which I gained an insight about taking on responsibility andhaving leadership skills. 1 了解留学生的特点和要求

因为语言障碍,留学生开始实习时普遍有交往紧张和畏难情绪;大多数留学生都非常渴望提高临床知识和技能,希望教师和实习的中国医学生能帮助他们;他们的基础医学学习不是很好,无论是诊断学,药学还是病例书写;他们的英语写作语法也比较差。

“Break the ice”的解决方法有①首先要带他们熟悉本科室的环境,知道主任,秘书,住院总,护士长等的工作房间并留下电话号码,安排几个主要带教教师(这样在时间上可以灵活安排),临床各小组找到英语好的一些教师和学生,让他们尽快克服陌生感,有困难时能得到帮助。②其次要留下他们的电话号码,有什么临床活动以及操作等可以通知他们,让他们感觉到我们的关心,当然在临床工作忙的情况下,要尽量作好解释,有空再仔细讲解,友好的对待他们也是素质的表现;③另外简要介绍本科室的疾病谱和主要的操作技能,比如我科的穿隔离衣,腹穿,腰穿,肝活检,人工肝,腹水浓缩回输等,还有准备的小讲座的内容,让他们了解本科室学习重点难点,能够有的放矢的看书实习;④主动提供英语病例写作的模板。

2 克服畏难情绪,不要觉得是负担

要克服畏难情绪,否则就会首先产生心理上的不快和拒绝,不会主动甚至反感留学生在临床的实习,认为是添乱。相反就会积极的准备,在和他们的交流中既提高专业水平也提高医学英文水平,并能建立友谊关系,使沟通更加顺畅容易,形成一个良性循环。因此,要有耐心,笔者了解了一些教师和实习学生的意见,认为他们发音太差,没有兴趣继续下去,即使有耐心听他们讲,也会抱怨交流困难,浪费时间等;实际上应该理解他们的心情,身在异国他乡,给他们多一点机会,听不懂可以让他们写下来,最好能在科室的电脑上安装医学大词典,可帮助彼此更好的理解,沟通非常重要,否则就有误会产生,甚至弄得关系紧张。

3 合理安排留学生每天的实习活动

这是帮助留学生达到实习目的的具体途径,形式可多样,鼓励他们多提问。一般他们在每个科室有4周的时间,通常每个科室都有两个及以上的病房,可以安排他们在每个病房各实习两周,了解不同病种。

病房活动。参加查房,时间选择最好不在周一,因为周一一般比较忙,没有时间同时用汉语和英语讨论,下午时间比较充分;内容选择:第一次可以让他们泛泛的参与整个查房活动,了解病房有哪些病种、重病人、疑难病例,大致有什么特点,用什么药物,这必须要安排同学为他们翻译,查房教师在时间允许的情况下可以重点选择一些病人为他们简单介绍(以便于他们选择典型病例写完整病例),并有意识提一些问题让他们思考。至于每天早上的交班,可以让他们来参加一两天了解一下过程。病人接触,因为语言障碍,他们无法单独和病人接触,这不能不说是实习的一大障碍。那么有典型的新病人入院,可在询问病人,查体时带他们一起去收治,可能还需带教教师翻译指点(每周可进行1-2次),培训他们采集病史和查体,特别是本科室的重点查体方式方法;对于典型老病人,可以先就已写好的病例翻译给他们,然后再去进行一些查体(如果还有显著体征)操作,这就要求留学生保证在上班时间呆在病房,因为机会不是定点产生,而是可能随时发生,一旦有病人需要打针,抽血,输液,腹穿,腰穿等等,首先示范给他们看,讲解操作要点难点,鼓励他们能够互相作输液抽血的操作,如下次有比较容易穿刺的病人就可以让他们实习。

病例讨论。这是非常重要的互动过程。可以结合本科室重点疾病,用幻灯片的方式将相关病例情况放出来,让他们总结病例特点,提出可能的诊断和鉴别诊断,并说出支持点和不支持点,期间教师要结合病例提问,比如进一步的实验室检查,有没有金标准,经验性的用药等。我科重点之一为抗菌药物的使用,笔者就首先给他们讲述抗菌药物经验使用的原则,同时就顺便询问他们是否了解抗菌药物的种类,病原微生物的分类知识,只有具备了这些基础知识,讲解抗菌药物使用原则才会有效,否则比如不知道肺炎克雷伯菌是革兰阴性亦或阳性,即使知道氨基糖苷类主要抗革兰阴性菌也无用。

小讲座。针对本学科特点,每周安排一次小讲座,对课本知识进行延伸或提高,比如我们感染科,抗肝炎病毒药物的应用;抗微生物药物的临床应用原则;发热待查;发热和皮疹;感染性腹泻鉴别诊断;不明原因的肝病等等,可以结合学生临床实习所见讲解,使他们能够更好的理解,并给他们留下相应的参考文献,有利于他们自学提高。

写病例。批改留学生的病例时发现基本上都写得不是那么一回事,但因为没有催他们及时上交,当发现问题时他们已经到其他科室去了,所以很遗憾,不应该最后实习完的时候再把几份病例统一收起来批改,这些学生已经转科了,和他们讨论修改在时间上会很不方便。策略应该是带教教师应该是在他们写完第一份病例就及时批阅,告诉他们哪里有问题,明确病历要重点突出,然后他们才能在下一份病例写作中改善提高;可给他们提供模板以及常用的句型;尽管通过诊断学学习,留学生了解了病例写作的基本原则,但只有通过临床学习观察病人经过自已的思考总结,反复写作才能真正掌握如何写出简练可靠的病例,一定不能省略或者简单的看看给个分数了事,最好能分别一个一个的讲解,然后再集中互相阅读彼此的病例,学着评价,找出问题和优点,从而提高下一份病例的质量。表1是我科一周实习活动举例。

通常在下一周开始的时候可以开一个短会(最好固定一个集中时间),小结上周所学的知识技能,先让学生自己阐述,有什么问题要求,及时解答或者解决,对这周的工作初步安排,但因为临床工作的不确定性,可能临时有好的病例,有操作等,可以让临床实习的中国同学采取一帮一的方法,通知带教教师或留学生,既可以练习英语,又可以让留学生及时看到学到新的技能。

4 通过网络多媒体帮助临床实习

同样在实习过程中恰当利用网络多媒体也会有助于教学过程,并弥补带教教师医学英语表达上的不足。比如上述提到的安装医学词典,突然忘记的单词,马上查阅,能使对病例的讨论和交流有效的继续下去,还可帮助留学生学到相关的中文表达方式和汉语;在收治病人时候,笔者发现他们的手法很欠缺,就可通过播放《原版医学体检经典视频》(Textbook of physical examination)的相关视频,比如在我科主要是腹部体检,帮他们回忆复习检体诊断学,然后再具体检查病人,使他们能在一定程度上逐渐掌握这方面的技能;还有就是医疗操作,也可以下载《新英格兰杂志》免费的各种医疗操作的视频,包括常规的parencentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, bone marrow puncture, urinary catheterization,intraveneous catheterization等等,都有全英文演播的详细的术前准备,技术要点,操作演示,并发症,疑难解析,并配有更详细的pdf文件说明,非常适合给留学生观看。

如果可能还可以有意识的锻炼这些留学生的中文表达,可以让中文基础比较好愿意学的留学生锻炼用中文询问病情,但教师要联系好病人并亲自或有实习同学陪同。

总之,我们要具备耐心、信心和责任心,在外国留学生不具备充分的中文语言的情况下,能够完成临床实习任务,让他们的医学技能知识获得进步的同时教师也能积累更多的经验和提高自身的素质和教学水平。这样就能吸引更多的外国留学生,让我们的西医教育和技术国际化[7]。

父与子:小崔来中国

我的第一场访谈的对象是在中国留学的韩国中学生崔珍镐,以及来中国探望儿子的崔爸爸。在浓浓的咖啡香缭绕的宿舍里,我们的话题从“小崔来中国”开始。

父亲说———

送珍镐来中国留学,是听了亲戚的介绍。他的两个儿子都在诸暨荣怀学校读书,他建议珍镐也去。我一开始挺犹豫,可珍镐听说了,闹着非去不可,他表示有信心在中国学到知识,充实自我。我就让他来了。当然我也希望他能在中国增长见识,开阔眼界。

“儿行千里母担忧”,但我和他妈妈倒挺放心。因为,珍镐在中国留学后进步了不少。以前,他比较内向沉默,现在变得开朗了。最大的进步是养成了很多好习惯,以前在家里,他爱睡懒觉,现在寒暑假回家,他也和在学校一样,每天6点30分起床。我们韩国的俗语说“早起的鸟儿有食吃”,儿子的进步让我和他妈妈都很高兴。

中韩两国的父母对下一代教育都非常重视。我把珍镐送到中国,未来怎样就靠他自己了。我希望他能考上清华大学,在中国找份好工作。

儿子说———

崔珍镐,敦实,略羞涩。浙江诸暨荣怀学校国际部学生,2003年8月来中国,中文水平一般,能比较流利地进行日常对话,但某些内心的感受只能用韩语表达。

我那时候正在读初二,听铉镐(我的亲戚)说,中国很大,有很多好玩的东西,我特羡慕,就要求到这里来了。

来中国之前,我只是好奇和兴奋,其他什么都没想。可是,到诸暨荣怀学校后,我就傻眼了,中文听不懂,中餐太古怪,脸上还长了许多“丑陋”的小痘痘。我打电话向妈妈求救,妈妈说是水土不服的缘故。最想不通的是,在韩国上网吧是合法的,在中国,未成年人上网吧却成了违法行为。不过,这对爸爸妈妈来说,绝对是个好消息。

中国的许多风俗习惯都和韩国差不多。可我从韩国带来的衣服,这里的同学认为太花哨了,他们说:“你怎么穿女人的衣服?”在韩国,10月份,都可以开空调暖气了,可这里却要到12月份。入乡随俗,我也只能顺应这里的习惯。

这里,每天6点30分起床,若赖床,也会被生活老师拉起来。我现在已经非常习惯了,回家也这样,居然博得了爸爸妈妈的交口称赞。

爸爸对我管教很严,他一年会来中国看我两次,如果被他抓住小把柄,我就死定了。上次爸爸来看我,得知我和同学在厕所抽烟的事,他怒发冲冠,揍我一顿。打完后再来点柔性教育,找我谈话,说知道我只是好奇,相信我不会学坏。算他还了解我,对他打我的事我就不计较了。

我这一年半几乎都在学习中文,可是汉字繁多,学起来真不容易。记得刚来的时候,被老师安排到初二(8)班和中国同学一起晚自习,同学们对我非常热情,纷纷围住我,跟我聊天。可那时,我却觉得自己像动物园里的猴子,大家都睁着好奇的眼睛看我,还用奇怪的中文同我讲话。我好不容易在他们七嘴八舌的话中听懂了一句,好像是“你叫什么名字”,我哆哆嗦嗦地答了,可同学们哄堂大笑。我知道,我的中文实在太烂了。现在,我能和中国同学交流很多东西了,我们谈明星、音乐、NBA,嘻嘻,同学们还教我说诸暨方言。

留学一年半了,每次坐飞机回韩国或者回学校的时候,我都会忍不住胸臆充盈———世界在我脚下,留学真好!

小崔的体会:

开始只是好奇,想来中国增长见识。真正来了之后,发现首先还是要自觉自律,因为在这里没有爸爸妈妈的照顾和管教,什么都要看自己的了。

戴牙套的女孩:中国和西班牙的9大不同

邱雅芳,女,西班牙侨民。这个戴牙套的女孩在一群人中显得格外活泼。她坐在床上向我们讲述留学生活的感触,比较她眼中中国和西班牙的不同,讲到兴奋处,她会在床上手舞足蹈。

雅芳的床头贴了许多照片,都是和西班牙同学、朋友的合影,在照片中,黄皮肤黑眼睛的她显得非常中国。可是当她向我们讲述留学生活感受的时候,却完全是西方的思维方式,她满口“我们西班牙”怎样怎样。

她向我们列举了中国和西班牙的九大不同:中国的交通秩序没有西班牙规范;在西班牙,明文规定18岁以下的小孩不能买香烟,这里似乎没有这么严格;在西班牙,明文规定18岁以下的小孩不能喝酒,这里没有这样的严格规定;网吧,中国规定18岁以下的未成年人不能进入,西班牙没有这样的规定;在西班牙,少男少女交往很正常,可这里的老师却要管,说不能早恋;中国的学习氛围比较浓厚,让人不好意思逃课;中国的课堂比较安静,但不够活泼;中国的东西比较便宜;中国的少年杂志比较正统,西班牙的少年杂志比较时尚。在雅芳的眼里,西班牙的吸引力要大得多。

不过,既来之则安之,现在雅芳和国际部的印尼同学成了好朋友,假期里结伴去杭州、绍兴、上海旅行。活波开朗的雅芳也有孤独的时候,她思念在西班牙的同学和朋友,电话费太贵,于是Email就成了她们最常用的联系方式。

雅芳的感受:

我是华人,爸爸妈妈希望我不要忘本,会讲中国话,于是我就来中国了。虽然我现在更喜欢西班牙的生活,但是这一年的留学生活对我来说,会是生命中一个难忘的插曲,是一辈子都会相随的中国乐章。

男孩不哭:留学生活是一种历练

崔铉镐,韩国人,男,大方,善于言辞。因父亲在诸暨开厂而随父来华,就读于浙江诸暨荣怀学校。来中国已两年多,由于中文流利,已从国际部转入初中部,和中国学生一起上课。

坐在初二(9)班的崔铉镐正在上数学课,周围是中国同学,老师用中文教学,韩国男孩崔铉镐学得津津有味。对他来说,中文已经不是障碍,而是他学习知识的工具。下课了,铉镐和同桌沈丹火热地聊着什么,原来,沈丹邀请铉镐去自己家———杭州。

过了语言关,似乎一切都变得容易起来。现在,铉镐步入了正常的学习生活,和中国同学一起住8人宿舍,自己洗衣服,下课和中国同学一起打篮球,交了很多中国朋友。除了见到老师长辈,他会不由自主地鞠躬行礼,已经看不出来自异国的印记了。

在学习上,铉镐认为中国的数学教学进度相对要快一些,他感觉有些吃力,“其他嘛,一切尽在掌握之中。”在8个人的宿舍中,铉镐住在下铺,“上铺的兄弟天天晚上吃零食”。他们最感兴趣的话题是游戏,聊起来没完没了。

电瓶车男孩:一感动就忘词

高一的时候,东旭从国际部转到本部。上学第一天下午,生性活跃的他就和班里的中国同学去打篮球了。他打起篮球来可都是尽最大努力去拼去抢的——韩国男篮就是凭这股子劲,在釜山亚运会上把中国男篮就要到手的金牌生生“夺”走的。东旭特别自豪自己血液里也有这种基因!不过——由于拼得太凶,他跳起来下落的时候不小心踩到同学脚上,把自己的脚脖子给扭伤了。东旭疼得张大了嘴出不了声,眼泪都要掉出来了。

几个同学小心地把他扶起来,一位长得比较壮的同学二话没说背着他去了校医室,给他买了“好得快”,老练地帮他脱下臭烘烘的鞋子袜子,耐心地喷上药。东旭自己都没有这样细致地照顾过自己,可感激的话憋在喉咙里就是说不出去——因为一感动就忘了中文该怎么表达了,这种感觉着实让这个小男子汉有点不知所措。。

调皮男生:中国的老师不打人

我来中国有三年半的时间了,我喜欢中国,喜欢中国的教育方式。

在泰国我们一个学校有3000多人,一个班都有60几个人,老师看到这么多学生心情一下子就变坏了,对我们凶得不得了。我在那里还经常挨打呢,当然,是我犯了错误,有几次是我上课没有认真听讲,有几次是我没及时交作业。老师就把我叫出来,拿出专门对付我们的小木棍,我只得伸出手来让我的手掌吃点苦头,或者转过身去让我的屁股也尝尝木棍的滋味。

而我在中国从来没碰到过老师打学生的事情。记得刚来中国的时候,有一次我没及时交作业。第二天,我从第一节课老师进门开始就盯着他,看他有没有带打人的小棍子来,可是他居然没带。整整一节课他都没有把我叫到讲台前面处分我,我心里想,一定是等下课后把我叫到办公室再修理我吧。下课后,他真的把我叫到了办公室,我心里慌得很,不知道中国老师是不是会用更厉害的东西对付我。没想到老师不但没打我,反而耐心地问我为什么没有交,哪道题不会做,然后给我讲解。哇,我觉得好奇怪啊,难道中国的老师不打人吗?后来我问过韩国的学生,他们说在韩国老师也经常会打学生的,但中国的老师不会这么做,而是像朋友一样对你。

果然,中国老师总会找一些机会和我讲话,感觉就像是朋友。后来我就很少再迟交作业了,因为我和老师是朋友嘛,我不能让朋友为难呀!

小小“联合国”

浙江、北京、上海等省市的一些中小学里,都存在着这样的“小小联合国”。

我的中国同学都还特别喜欢跳街舞,每次看到韩国明星在电视里跳,他们就跟着摇摆。这难不倒我,我从十岁就开始练街舞,可是街舞高手。我摆了几个动作,立即有几位同学要拜我为师。哈,我一下子成了他们的师傅!

我对中国的功夫也很是喜欢,有一个同学在初中的时候曾经练过武术,哇,他只那么随便摆了两个姿势,我就崇拜得不得了。于是,他也成了我的师傅。

我在练马步的时候,师傅在练习街舞,常常是我问他:“师傅,还要练多久啊!”他回我一句:“我问你啊,师傅,这个动作怎么这么难啊!”

我来中国才一年,但我现在已经能说相对流利的普通话了,这主要归功于我和中国同学互为师徒的经历。

印尼男生:想家的“中国人”

黄子洋,印尼男生,上海进才中学国际班,最喜欢听刘德华的《中国人》,他说他就是一个中国人,一个印尼小华侨。

虽然来到上海才四个多月,但是黄子洋的中文却讲得相当流利,原来他的父母在印尼就讲中文,而他自己从五六岁开始也学着讲中文,他对中国的文化更是向往已久。进才中学在印尼参加展览的时候,黄子洋和父母都喜欢上了这所学校,于是毅然决定来中国上海读书。

但在学习上,黄子洋还是遇到了一些小问题,尤其是刚来上海的时候,他听不懂中国老师讲的课程,有时候他甚至怀疑自己是不是不适合在中国上学。后来他发现,出现这种问题的不只他一个,只是大家还没接受中国老师的教学方式而已。于是,有不懂的他就会问来自台湾和香港的同学,他们比黄子洋的中文水平要好得多,听课当然不成问题。一个月以后,黄子洋可以轻松地听懂老师讲课的内容了,并且还发现上海的课程比印尼的要容易一点。他甚至学会了一些上海方言,这让他兴奋极了。
